The Purpose Of God’s Blessings

The Purpose Of God’s Blessings

Lord, how can I use what I have to help others?

When my people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. If you have enough money to live well and see a brother or sister in need but show no compassion—how can my love be in you? Dear child, don’t merely say that you love others; show the truth by your actions.

Romans 12:13; 1 John 3:17-18

What is the impact of giving freely?

I love a person who gives cheerfully. I will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, “They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” For I am the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, I will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

2 Corinthians 9:7-10

What can I pray when I want to develop a generous spirit?

Lord, may you make my love for others and for all people grow and overflow, just as my love for you overflows. May you, as a result, make my heart strong, blameless, and holy as I stand before you when my Lord Jesus comes again with all his holy people.

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13

God blesses you so his blessings can flow through you into the lives of others. When you open your hands and give generously, you’re also emptying your hands to receive from God. The next time someone compliments something of yours, consider giving it to him or her. What does it feel like to give so freely?
