Stand In Awe
Stand In Awe
Lord, how can I recapture a sense of amazement about you?
I am the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. The heavens proclaim my glory. The skies display my craftsmanship. The highest heavens and the earth and everything in it all belong to me. For I am the God of gods and Lord of lords. I am the great God, the mighty and awesome God. At the right time I will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.
Isaiah 40:28; Psalm 19:1; Deuteronomy 10:14, 17; Ephesians 1:10
Lord, how can I live in a way that gives you the glory you deserve?
What do I require of you? I require only that you fear me, and live in a way that pleases me, and love me and serve me with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey my commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13
What can I pray as I reflect on your amazing work in creation?
Lord, let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Let the sea and everything in it shout your praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before you, LORD, for you are coming! You are coming to judge the earth. You will judge the world with justice, and the nations with your truth.
Psalm 96:11-13
God’s amazing work is everywhere—from speaking the heavens and earth into existence, to quiet miracles like a beautiful sunset or the faithful beating of your heart. The more you look for evidence of God’s work, the more amazed you will be. Try to watch the sunset today or catch tomorrow’s sunrise. Try to soak in the miracle of it—only an amazing God could create such splendor.
