Rewards Await You
Rewards Await You
Lord, will you reward me for how I’ve lived my life?
Anyone who wants to come to me must believe that I exist and that I reward those who sincerely seek me. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward.
Hebrews 11:6; 1 Corinthians 3:13-14
How can I stay focused on eternal rewards despite the sacrifices involved?
Everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life. Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
Matthew 19:29; Luke 6:38
What prayer can help me focus on heavenly rewards?
Whether I am here in this body or away from this body, my goal is to please you, Lord. For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. I will receive whatever I deserve for the good or evil I have done in this earthly body.
2 Corinthians 5:9-10
Start an “eternal investment” savings jar with whatever change or bills you have in your wallet, with a goal to save twenty-five, fifty, or one hundred dollars. Periodically add a few dollars to the jar until you reach your goal. Then give that money away. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your gift to the right person or organization. Use this exercise to remind you that your work to serve God and others here on earth is storing up rewards in heaven.
