Perfect Peace - In the Morning When I Rise

Perfect Peace

Lord, how can I experience a greater sense of peace?

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. I will keep in perfect peace all who trust in me, all whose thoughts are fixed on me!

Philippians 4:8-9; Isaiah 26:3

What does it look like to keep my mind fixed on positive thoughts?

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell me what you need, and thank me for all I have done. Then you will experience my peace, which exceeds anything you can understand. My peace will guard your heart and mind as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

What can I pray to ask for your peace in any circumstance?

May you, the Lord of peace himself, give me your peace at all times and in every situation. May you equip me with all I need for doing your will. May you produce in me, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to you. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in my heart.

2 Thessalonians 3:16; Hebrews 13:21; Colossians 3:15

What is disrupting your peace right now? Reread Philippians 4:6-7. You can keep your thoughts focused on God by choosing prayer over worry, telling God all of your cares and needs, and thanking him for what he’s done in the past. Focusing on God won’t eliminate the troubles from your life, but it will cultivate trust in his care. Use this model in your prayer time today, asking God to exchange his peace for your worries.
