How Reliable Are You? - In the Morning When I Rise

How Reliable Are You?

What is an example from your Word of someone who was trustworthy?

The money brought to the Temple was not used for making silver bowls, lamp snuffers, basins, trumpets, or other articles of gold or silver for my Temple. It was paid to the workmen, who used it for the Temple repairs. No accounting of this money was required from the construction supervisors, because they were honest and trustworthy men.

2 Kings 12:13-15

What principles from your Word develop trustworthy character?

And now, what do I require of you? I require only that you fear me, the LORD your God, and live in a way that pleases me, and love me and serve me with all your heart and soul. A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence. The trustworthy person will get a rich reward, but a person who wants quick riches will get into trouble. Don’t plot harm against your neighbor. Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace. Don’t scheme against each other.

Deuteronomy 10:12; Proverbs 11:13; Proverbs 28:20; Proverbs 3:29; Zechariah 8:16-17

What can I pray to help me grow into a more trustworthy person?

Lord, help me to do things in such a way that everyone can see I am honorable. Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart. Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found. Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!

Romans 12:17; Psalm 119:34-36
