God Delights In You

Lord, in what do you delight?

I delight in those with integrity. I detest evil plans, but I delight in pure words. I delight in those who tell the truth. I delight in the prayers of the upright. I will delight in you if you obey my voice and keep my commands and decrees, and if you turn to me with all your heart and soul.

How do you express your delight in me? How can I recognize it?

I delight in my people; I crown the humble with victory. I direct the steps of the godly. I delight in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for I hold them by the hand. I correct those I love, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights. I led you to a place of safety; I rescued you because I delight in you.

What can I pray to express my delight in you, Lord?

May all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in you. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “The LORD is great!” Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you.

In any relationship, thoughtfulness toward each other promotes feelings of joy and delight. How often do you ask God what delights him?
