Faith Doesn’t Have To Be Complicated

Lord, what does it mean to have faith?

Faith shows the reality of what you hope for; it is the evidence of things you cannot see. By faith you understand that the entire universe was formed at my command, that what you now see did not come from anything that can be seen. And it is impossible to please me without faith. If you want to come to me, you must believe that I exist and that I reward those who sincerely seek me.

Is it really as simple as choosing to believe in you?

Don’t be afraid. Just have faith. For my Kingdom belongs to those who are like children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive my Kingdom like a child will never enter it.

What can I pray to encourage my heart to simply trust?

I called on your name, LORD: “Please, LORD, save me!” How kind you are! How good you are! So merciful, O God of mine! You protect those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and you saved me. Let my soul be at rest again, for you have been good to me.

Psalm 116:4-7

Faith is simply choosing to trust what you cannot always see—in this case, that God exists and that he is loving and good. If you have not taken this step of faith, it’s not too late.
