The Freedom Of Boundaries
Lord, why do I need boundaries?
Hide my word in your heart, that you might not sin against me. Walk along the path of my commands, for that is where your happiness is found. My commands make you wiser than your enemies, for my commands are your constant guide. I will guide your steps by my word, so you will not be overcome by evil.

What are some boundaries you set for me?
What do I, the LORD your God, require of you? I require only that you fear me, and live in a way that pleases me, and love me and serve me with all your heart and soul. You must always obey my commands and decrees that I have given you for your own good.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13
What can I pray to enjoy the safety and security of your boundaries?
You say that you will guide me along the best pathway for my life. You will advise me and watch over me. Help me not to be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control. Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust in you.

God’s boundaries are his loving restraints to keep you from falling away from him and the abundant life he offers. A guardrail on the road isn’t there to restrict you but to keep you from danger. God’s boundaries are designed to help you experience the blessings of his ways. Read the verses above as well as the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:1-17. Which boundaries from God’s Word are hard to accept? How would reframing your thinking from “This boundary is restrictive” to “This boundary is God’s loving protection for me” affect the way you live?
