Stay On God’s Path To Avoid Getting Lost
Lord, how can I discern your will for my life?
Be still, and know that I am God! I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow. Come, my children, and listen to me.
Psalm 46:10; Psalm 32:8; Isaiah 48:17; Psalm 34:11
How can I be sure I’m on the right path?
My paths are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. Tune your ears to wisdom, ask for understanding, and you will gain knowledge of me. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. Your own ears will hear me. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.
Hosea 14:9; Proverbs 2:2-3, 5; John 10:27; Isaiah 30:21
As I wake up each morning, how can I pray to follow your path for the day?
Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me.
Psalm 25:4-5
Discerning God’s will only happens when we are connected to him. God promises to help us hear his voice and to guide us if we are committed to listening. Take time to invite him into your plans and decisions—both big and small. Ask him the following questions as you think about your day: Have I spent enough time being quiet, still, and open to hearing your voice? Have I absorbed your Word today? Is there anything in my day that hinders me from hearing you? How can I better remind myself of your presence throughout the day?
