God Is Preparing A Place For You

Lord, is heaven a reality I can count on?

I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again?” But you are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth I have promised, a world filled with my righteousness. There is more than enough room in my home, and I am going to prepare a place for you.

2 Peter 3:3-4, 13; John 14:2

But where is heaven?

Then the apostle John saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And he saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from me out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. He heard a loud shout from my throne, saying, “Look, my home is now among my people! I will live with them, and they will be my people. I myself will be with them.”

Revelation 21:1-3

What can I pray as I think about your promise of heaven?

Father, no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what you have prepared for those who love you. But you revealed these things by your Spirit. For your Spirit searches out everything and shows us your deep secrets.
