Wounds

Wounds do heal, but there are times to allow the Great Physician to perform surgery so they heal right.

Bring your brokenness to Me. I will heal your childhood wounds of neglect, abuse, and abandonment. I will heal your guilt-infested sores that came from bad decisions and ungodly choices. I will heal your emotional bruises that were inflicted by the hurtful comments of someone you trusted. I will heal the heart-wrenching ache you felt when someone who promised to love you walked away. I will heal your physical wounds that have brought severe pain or depleted your energy. I will heal your spiritual wounds that have triggered cynicism and mistrust of Christian leaders.

Begin by placing your wounds in My hands. Tell Me what happened that caused your hurt. You can pour out your grief and sorrow to Me. I will listen. Then pray, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life” (Psalm 139:23-24). Sometimes before a wound can heal, a scab has to be removed—maybe sin needs to be confessed, or you need to forgive someone who wronged you. Ask Me if there is any action you need to take. Respond in obedience and then begin living in the confidence that I will provide balm for your wounds. This is never an easy process, but it’s worth it in the end. My child, I long to see you restored and whole.
