Living Right
Living Right
Jesus demonstrated perfectly what it means to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all things.
David Jeremiah
If you want to have a happy life, follow the example of My Son. No matter how many times He was criticized, rejected, wrongfully accused, sneered at, or ridiculed, He never paid back evil for evil. If someone is treating you unfairly, instead of retaliating, do something good for that person and allow Me to handle the outcome. People often act out of their own insecurities or hurts, and you are an easy target. Find your affirmation in My approval, not in the attitudes and responses of others.
Always be joyful. Make this the motto of your life. Today, list everything you have to be joyful about—life itself, your daily provision, your family, your home, and your faith. Now write down the difficult circumstance you’re in. Think of everything you’ve learned and the ways you’ve grown during this hard time. Will you thank Me for that, too? Instead of grumbling about your situation, practice turning your complaints into words of thanksgiving: “Lord, thank You that You trusted me to carry this burden. I’m grateful that You have helped me become more compassionate toward others who have hurt me. I praise You for holding me in my pain.” The key to living right is to rejoice, pray, and give thanks.
See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances.
1 Thessalonians 5:15-18
