Be open with Me about your sin, and you will find forgiveness. “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy” (Proverbs 28:13, NIV). An important next step is to be open with others about your struggles. The apostle James said, “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed” (James 5:16). Living a transparent life creates a safe place for others to speak about their wrong choices, deep disappointments, and doubts about faith.

This honest life also starts the best kind of spiritual movement. Others will see the results of your changed life, and they will want to be set free by the power of Jesus’ blood too. Instead of being captives to sin, they can choose freedom in Christ and begin authentic and fulfilling lives. You thought transparency might bring criticism, ridicule, and derision. Instead, it brings closeness, freedom, openness, joy, mutual encouragement, and deep trust. As the testimony of your life remains open before others, it will draw them to a personal, genuine faith of their own.

Each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
