This Is The Day

This Is The Day

God wants you to trust him one day at a time: “Give us this day our daily bread.” Not for next week. Not for next year. Not for next month. Just one day at a time.

Rick Warren

This is the day I have made! Take a deep breath and revel in the joy of waking up to the sunrise and to all of the possibilities I have provided for you on this day. If you keep your eyes open, you’ll discover unexpected gifts and new opportunities to grow in our relationship. Invite Me to participate in every part of your day. Choose peace by spending time with Me before attacking the challenges in front of you. Choose joy and pass it on to others through a smile, a touch, or a word of hope. Choose life, instead of curling up in a ball and refusing to participate in this day.

Instead of expecting bad things to happen, anticipate positive results as you live and move in My will throughout your day. Let thankfulness become as natural as breathing. Determine to have a grateful heart, remembering that in a fallen world sorrow and grief are intertwined with great delights and joy-filled experiences. When you remember that this day is a gift from Me, you’ll be able to thank Me for the good things and the hard places. Develop the habit of expressing gratitude to Me as you experience both the highs and the lows. Live one day at a time and thank Me for the provision of today. Tomorrow is not here yet—and I will be with you then, just as I am today. Say aloud, “This is the day the Lord made. I am choosing joy!”

This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
