Go to the deep place, and sit on the steps of your soul and talk to the Lord; then come back to the shallow places of life and tell those you meet what God said to encourage you, which may then serve to encourage them.

Linger over My Word and listen for My instruction. Ask Me to take you deeper into an ever-increasing knowledge of My truth. Talk to Me about what you’re learning as you grow in wisdom and insight. Experience My love as it washes over you and be comforted by My nearness. I will take you deeper still until your life is lost in Jesus. In that place of total surrender, you will discover My will and My peace. Going deeper has a cost, and others may be critical of your desire to separate from the cares of this world for a while. But the end result of your commitment is worth it—the spiritual fruitfulness, the increased wisdom, and the intimacy you have with Me.

I know you are afraid of what might be ahead of you, so place your hand in My firm grip. When you return to the shallower places of life, take what you have learned and bless the lives of people I place in your path. Teach them how to come to the deep place and find renewal, refreshment, and understanding in My presence. Pray that My glorious, unlimited resources will empower them with inner strength through My Spirit (Ephesians 3:16).
