There is no circumstance, no trouble, no testing, that can ever touch me until, first of all, it has gone past God and past Christ, right through to me. If it has come that far, it has come with a great purpose.

Accept each day as it comes to you. Look around to see what I have placed in your life to help you grow. You’ll see beauty, even in the midst of sadness and pain, if you keep your eyes and ears open. Your emotions are tender when you’re walking through a trial. Notice the people in your pathway. I’m sending them to brighten your life with physical and spiritual encouragement. These are not random occurrences. I want you to study how My followers show compassion and what they do to offer tangible help. Right now you need this blessing, but there will be a day when you’ll have the opportunity to perform these acts of kindness for others.

I am teaching you how to persevere under pressure, and I’ve seen your progress. In this classroom of life, you’re learning that the hard times you experience are only temporary. You’re developing the habit of coming to Me first when you’re struggling, and that action always leads to peace. I’m developing in you a tender, soft heart toward others—and you’re pointing them to Me. When you face obstacles, your heart’s response is, “Lord, what do You want me to learn?” Your attitude of submission pleases Me.

Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.
