Sight

Sometimes the happiest ending isn’t the one you keep longing for, but something you absolutely cannot see from where you are.

Fix your eyes on Me. You have been longing to experience the carefree days of the past. Life was easier then, without the struggles that weigh you down today. At times exhaustion tempts you to give up on trusting Me. Affliction eats away at your God-confidence. When your gaze shifts away from Me, the result is fatigue, doubt, and despair. But when you focus your eyes, needs, wants, hurts, and desires on Me, your perspective changes.

It is only through Christ that you will have a clear picture of Me. Ask Me for strength as you run your personal race toward eternity with endurance, “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of [y]our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2, NKJV). Jesus was able to go through unthinkable pain because His eyes were always on the goal—saving a lost and dying world by His sacrifice on the cross and reigning eternally in heaven with Me. You may not see a positive outcome for your situation right now, but if you keep looking at Me, your story will end with a joy that can only be explained in the supernatural dimension.

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
