Shine
Shine
We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining—they just shine.
D. L. Moody
I am the Light of the World. After you invite Me into your life, I take great delight when you become a light-bearer to the people I put in your path. The world is filled with darkness, and as you see the results of evil behavior, it’s easy to become discouraged. Keep your eyes on Me. “Put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light” (Romans 13:12, NIV).
The purpose of a lamp is to provide illumination. Let My light shine through your interactions with people and the relationships you cultivate. Be generous with your life. If you open up to others, you’ll prompt them to open up to Me (Matthew 5:16, MSG). When they see My reflection in you, you can point them to the true Source of Light (John 1:9).
You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine!
Matthew 5:14-15, MSG
