Whatever the particular call is, the particular sacrifice God asks you to make . . . will you rise up and say, in your heart, “Yes, Lord, I accept it; I submit, I yield? I pledge myself to walk in that path, and to follow that Voice, and to trust Thee with the consequences.”

I am looking for people who are willing to risk everything to follow My call. Sometimes what I lead you to do makes no sense at the moment, but later you see how My plan unfolds. Are you willing to sacrifice your comfort, reputation, security, and hopes for a pain-free life so you can follow Me with your whole heart? If your answer is yes, I promise you will be in for an adventure full of both joy and sorrow. It will be a life of serving others and of finding deep and lasting fulfillment in a way that makes no sense to people who cling to predictability and a carefully made agenda for their own lives.

The journey will not always be easy. My disciples have a long history of leaving the comfortable lives they once knew and of following Me, often without knowing My plan ahead of time. When you choose to trust Me in this way, our relationship will grow. Your response to the leading of the Holy Spirit will become second nature. You will understand your calling and purpose, and you will never want to return to an ordinary life.

For my part, I wholeheartedly followed the LORD my God.
