Roots
Roots
A tree is nothing without its foundation; it has no nourishment and no anchor. Life may be wreaking havoc above the surface, as it often does, but our roots remain fed and secure in God’s love.

I long for you to be deeply rooted in My Son, Jesus, and to know Him intimately. Only then will you bear spiritual fruit. Follow the instructions of the apostle Paul: “Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all he has done” (Colossians 2:7, TLB). Your roots get deeply established in Christ when you stay in My Word, talk to Me through prayer, listen for My instructions, worship Me, and give thanks in all things.
When your roots grow deep, [I] will empower you with inner strength through [My] Spirit. Be grounded in love for Me and for others. Growth doesn’t happen in one day—it happens over time, by My grace, as you become strong in your faith. I’m inviting you to an ever-deepening relationship with Me. Grow tall and robust as your roots continue to be fed with living water and the nutrients in My Word.
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
Ephesians 3:16-17
