Right Now

God is the God of “right now.” He doesn’t want you sitting around regretting yesterday. Nor does He want you wringing your hands and worrying about the future. He wants you focusing on what He is saying to you and putting in front of you . . . right now.

There is a danger of waiting too long to live confidently for Me, day in and day out. Instead of thriving, you can get stuck in regrets, making excuses because your life is “too difficult.” You can compare yourself with others and think you’re unqualified, and you can allow the urgent to rob you of the important. You can procrastinate indefinitely. Or, you can believe that I have something important for you to do right now and move into a positive, Spirit-infused, Christ-honoring, joy-filled adventure with Me.

As we spend time together today, search My Word. Ask Me what your next steps should be. Talk to Me, saying, “Father, I know You have a purpose and a plan for me. Help me to recognize the gifts You’ve given me. I’m counting on You to match me up with an assignment that will further Your work in this world. I give You my inadequacies, my anxiety, my weakness, and my concerns about what people think of me. I am ready to serve You right now.” Be ready. I will answer that prayer!

Obey now the voice of the LORD in what I say to you, and it shall be well with you.
