Purity

Purity doesn’t mean perfection. . . . None of us fit that description. God expects purity of motives, not perfection of action. It means when you do something wrong, you want to make it right. You can’t have God’s blessing on your family, your business, or any other area of your life unless you seriously pursue that kind of purity.

Thinking about Me the moment you begin each day whets your appetite for becoming more and more like Me. When you ask Me to search your heart, I reveal the thoughts, actions, and habits you need to let go of so you can be a pure container for carrying the Good News of Jesus to others. This practice eliminates guilt over secret sins and brings the relief of an unencumbered conscience. I am pleased when you come to Me with a repentant heart. When you ask for My forgiveness, I flood you with mercy and make you brand new.

I’ve watched you endure pain and adversity without blaming Me or others for these hardships. Your pure motives allow Me to use the testimony of your life to dramatically impact the people who are watching you. They see your transparency, and they know your journey has been difficult—but they also see your face reflecting My joy, which inspires you to keep going. They want that joy for themselves. The purity of your heart has drawn others to consider the claims of Christ. My beloved, how precious you are to Me!

Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
