Build a root system so strong that when the hurricanes of life come, you will remain firmly planted in truth. Dark clouds hover over your head and make you question where I am. Sometimes you feel forgotten and alone. But if your life is grounded in My Word, you will reflect the beauty and nature of Christ in the middle of the storms. Roots anchor a tree to the soil, providing stability and a firm base. When your roots go deep, supplying you with spiritual food and drink for a healthy life, you will display strong branches, leaves, and fruit.

Paul prayed this for the Ephesians: “I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:16-19, MSG). That is what I want for you—a thriving life enriched by My truth and love.

They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
