Meekness

Jesus calls us to His rest, and meekness is His method. The meek man cares not at all who is greater than he, for he has long ago decided that the esteem of the world is not worth the effort.

Meekness is strength that surrenders to My authority. Perhaps you thought being meek has to do with a lack of confidence or being shy or reticent, but that’s not what it is at all. Meekness is not weakness; it’s strength harnessed. Instead of struggling to secure provisions, manage outcomes, and control the perceptions people have of you, meekness is humbly knowing you can trust Me with your life—for necessities, for reputation, for protection, and for defense. I have you covered!

It is good to “put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering” (Colossians 3:12, NKJV). Rely on Me for justice. When people commit wrongful acts against you or your family, don’t repay evil with evil (1 Peter 3:9). Don’t allow worry to destroy you. Instead of manipulating people and circumstances, allow Me to provide your heart’s desires (Psalm 37:4). This kind of attitude will result in peace and success as you learn to trust Me (Psalm 37:11).

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
