Joy

Joy is a process, a journey—often muffled, sometimes detoured; a mystery in which we participate, not a product we can grasp. It grows and regenerates as we have the courage to let go and trust the process.

Let Me help you discover the source of joy. Your life has not been easy recently, and you feel like you are on a detour that isn’t going anywhere. You’ve tried to put a smile on your face to mask the pain inside, but it makes you feel deceitful, like you’re trying to hide the truth. Your focus has been on all of the things that have gone wrong—and listing them one by one in your mind drags you even deeper into the valley of despair.

It’s only possible to choose joy when you focus on its source. When you know Me, I become the foundation of your joy. When I live within you, our relationship is not a once-in-a-while experience. As you pass through pain, grief, or sorrow, you can still rejoice in Me because I will never leave you. Read My Word and you will see the word joy again and again. Joy is a part of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Shout with joy to Me (Psalm 66:1). “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5, KJV). As My Son approached the end of His life on earth, it was the prospect of the joy set before Him that gave Him the strength to endure the Cross (Hebrews 12:2). Just as it gave Christ strength, let My joy give you strength today.

Let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.
