Glorify His Name
Glorify His Name
His perfect holiness, by definition, assures us that our words can’t contain Him. Isn’t it a comfort to worship a God we cannot exaggerate?
Francis Chan
There is nothing sweeter to My ears than the sound of your voice lifted in worship. Occupy yourself with Me—not just what I can do for you. When you glorify My name with a community of believers, you’re expressing praise based on what you know to be true about My character and My Word. The habit of worshiping Me with others is an important practice to develop in your pursuit of joy. Your fear will dissipate, and your troubles will feel much lighter.
David expressed a significant result of worship: “I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High. My enemies retreated” (Psalm 9:2-3). When you are under the enemy’s attack, speak My name, lift your voice in praise, glorify Me in worship—and the enemy will flee. You will compound your joy and defeat your foes when you speak and sing of My goodness. Glorifying My name draws you close to Me; it floods you with an intimate sense of My presence, and it empowers you to move forward with strength.
Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.
Psalm 34:3, NIV
