You are not your past. You do not have to live in bondage to every bad decision you ever made, or to any wrong action done to you. You are not the names you were called or the criticisms spoken against you. When you belong to Me, you are not the last one chosen for the sports team, the person no one wants to sit with, or the unappreciated family member. You are not chained to a bad reputation or locked up in a prison of rejection. You are not what you used to be—you are brand new!

The day you said yes to following My Son as your Lord and Savior, it wasn’t only your day that took a good turn—it was the rest of your life, for all eternity. You have literally been remade, like a newborn baby with a clean slate and a whole future of possibilities for living a good, happy, and productive life. Only now, your life is even better than a brand-new baby’s, because your sins have been forgiven and I will remember them no more! Dwell on these thoughts: I am related to the King of kings and Lord of lords. My sins are buried in the deepest sea. My future is filled with hope. My old life is gone, and I am brand new!

Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
