A Mary Heart - He Holds My Hand
A Mary Heart [The] Mary-miracle approach to growth and victory isn’t painless or problem-free—having babies never is. But it is alive and aglow, filled with joy. . . . God’s surprise ways are superior to our best efforts at anything—even trying to live for Him. Jack Hayford I want you to have a heart like Mary’s. When the angel Gabriel first announced to her that she was favored by Me and that she would give birth to a son and call Him Jesus, she was confused and frightened. This news was overwhelming to the young virgin Mary. Gabriel said, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35). Mary’s response is the example I want you to follow. Without understanding all the details about what I was asking of her, she immediately said, “Let it be to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38, NKJV). There are often times when I ask you to do something way out of your comfort zone, or when I give you an assignment that feels formidable and beyond your experience or capabilities. As you put your complete trust in Me, I will continue to supply all the wisdom, provision, and stamina you need to accomplish My will. The birthing of new dreams, new ministries, and new spiritual adventures often begins with simple obedience—without seeing the end result. Sometimes it’s painful, but it’s always worth it. Nurture a Mary heart! Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her. Luke 1:38
