Your Seat At The Table
Your Seat at the Table
When you are invited to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the seat of honor . . . take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, “Friend, we have a better place for you!” Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests.
Luke 14:8, 10
Spend a few moments thinking about what motivates your decision of where to sit at the table (either at home or on group outings).
Do you tend to sit near those with high status, or by those with whom you are most comfortable?
Do you choose the seat with the best view?
The next time you sit around a table with a group, ask the Lord to help you choose a humble seat.
