What Can I Say?
What Can I Say?
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers.
Ephesians 6:18
Have you ever been in a situation with someone where you just couldn’t think of anything to say? Have you ever experienced this in your relationship with God?
As in other relationships, almost every believer goes through seasons where talking to God feels stale, one-sided, unexciting, or even frustrating. Sometimes this is the result of unconfessed sin or because we are reluctant to get personal with God about our deepest needs and desires. Other times, God remains silent as a way to strengthen our faith. Whatever the case, the apostle John offers us some much-needed encouragement: “We are confident that he hears us” (1 John 5:4).
This week focuses on specific exercises to deepen and energize your conversations with God. Prayer is not just about telling him what your needs are—it’s about engaging with the ever-present Christ in every moment. As you talk with God this week, keep in mind that you’re forming and deepening the most important relationship you will ever have.
