The Greatness of a Humble Future

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9

Make a list of some things you are planning for your future—such as buying a home, having children, enjoying retirement, or seeking a career change.

Read over the verses above one more time with your plans in mind. Ask God what he thinks about your list.

If he shows you something to delete, are you humble enough to let it go?

If he shows you something to add to your list, can you accept it?
