Sit Down

Sit Down

King David went in and sat before the Lord and prayed.

2 Samuel 7:18

In Scripture, sitting signifies having a permanent relationship with God and enjoying his presence.

When you sit before God, you acknowledge your place of belonging in his family. Christ has saved you a seat next to him in heaven at the banquet table because you have been adopted by God (see Ephesians 2:6).

Sit with God in prayer today.

Thank him for adopting you as his own and giving you a place of permanent belonging.

Continue on in prayer, imagining what it will feel like to sit with Jesus at his table in heaven.
