Lord, Where Should I Walk?

Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.

The only answer to the question, How do we know whether this is from God? is By experience,”* says Dallas Willard in his book Hearing God.

Experience making decisions with God in a small way today. Go for a walk in your neighborhood or in a park.

As you walk, continually ask God, “Where would you like me to go? To the left or to the right?”

This may feel like guesswork, but trust that this is a small step to begin asking God questions and listening for his answers.

Notice the people or places that cross your path. God may invite you to make conversation with someone or simply sit alone in a beautiful place.
