Listening With Your Mouth

Listening with Your Mouth

Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish. . . . The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

Proverbs 18:13, 21

Read the above passage again carefully and ask God whether this is something you struggle with in listening.

Do you tend to spout off before gaining the facts of the whole story?

Do you love to talk more than listen?

Is it more difficult for you to listen to certain people or in specific situations?

Ask forgiveness for ways you have failed to listen well to others, and receive God’s grace.

As you’ve practiced the art of listening these past few days, what have you learned about the way you listen to God and others?
