Linger At The Table
Linger at the Table
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!
Psalm 34:8
Someone once said, “There is a special bond of fellowship when people linger at the table around good food. Among Jesus followers, it becomes much like a Holy Communion.” Consider these words and what they mean as you eat each meal today.
Set a note on your kitchen table (or wherever you eat) to remind you to chew your food slowly. Sit at the table if you usually eat on the couch or in front of the TV. Linger at the table longer than you normally would. Take time to smell, taste, and enjoy your food.
Allow this exercise to remind you how slowing down helps you better appreciate God’s gifts in the moment.
