Golden Rule Hospitality

Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

Matthew 7:12

When have you been blessed by the hospitality of another? Think about what specifically blessed you.

Was it the food and drink? An atmosphere of warmth? A listening ear? Good conversation and thoughtful questions? Your host’s undivided attention?

How can you follow the Golden Rule and serve others as you would like to be served?

Write out a short mission statement for you and your family of how you would like to treat those who come into your home.

For example, your statement could be “It is the goal of our family to create a safe and nurturing space for our guests by feeding them good food, asking them good questions, and being good listeners.”
