Give Thanks

Give Thanks

I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.

Psalm 116:17

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

1 Chronicles 16:34

There have probably been days, months, or even years when you’ve had more than your fair share of suffering. But being thankful can actually help you in difficult times by changing the way you look at life. Complaining connects you to your unhappiness—gratitude connects you to the source of real joy. Expressing gratitude to God is actually a form of worship. Similarly, you honor others when you thank them, respecting them for who they are and what they have done. There may be times when it feels hard to find something to be thankful for. Ask God to open your heart to his blessings in your life—those right in front of you and those that have not yet unfolded. This attitude of gratitude will allow you to see life as a gift to enjoy instead of a burden to bear.
