Comfort Others
Comfort Others
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Today, practice compassion by comforting someone who needs it.
For example, if your friend is worried about losing her job, think about what she might be feeling.
Pressure? Fear? Anxiety?
Take time to listen, sympathize, and offer compassionate statements, such as “It sounds like you are feeling a lot of pressure,” or “It seems like you’re feeling a lot of fear right now.”
Do not try to fix anything or dole out advice when you offer comfort; just be a compassionate listener.
