Caring for creation stands in opposition to today’s consumerism and our own selfish desires to live an easy and convenient life. For Christians, caring for creation holds an added significance. It is an outgrowth of our faith, seeing all of God’s creation as good and being wise stewards over it. Caring for creation challenges us to practice living within our God-given boundaries by not taking more than we need. It requires us to selflessly love our neighbors as well as future generations by making the earth a better place. It gives us the opportunity to care for something that was meant to glorify God and point people to him. What an amazing way to participate with God in his work! Ask God to open your heart this week to love and care for creation the way he does.
