Undefeatable

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.

Several years ago, I faced a health crisis that transformed the way I think about my body. I began to understand it as the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16). It’s an amazing truth. Whereas the Lord once dwelt in a temple built by human hands, he now lives in his people.

Imagine! This God is master over the impossible. His power brought the entire universe into existence and holds it in place. His power split the Red Sea and raised Christ from the dead. And this God makes his home in us.

Because God lives in us, nothing can overcome us. He is our refuge, our strength, our very-present help in times of trouble. Everything we need to conquer doubt, despair, and defeat is at our disposal because all-powerful God dwells in us.

We needn’t fear hardships. They cannot destroy us. God’s mighty power works in us, and we will not fall.
