Jesus Prays For You

Jesus Prays for You

Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

Romans 8:34 nlt

Pause

Two months into the pandemic lockdown, I wrote a newsletter to subscribers in which I was really honest about my emotional state. I’d done well until then, but one day a wave of sadness caught me off guard. I grieved for so many losses felt by so many people, myself included. Physical exhaustion after helping my daughter and her husband make a difficult move and the pain of a cracked tailbone compounded my state of mind.

To my surprise, readers emailed me with assurances of their prayers. Most of them were strangers. I felt so blessed. Knowing they were interceding for me filled me with hope.

A far greater measure of hope fills me when I think that Jesus prays for us. We don’t even need to tell him our heart’s silent cries; he already knows. No matter what pain we’re going through, he intercedes according to the Father’s will. He’s got our backs 24/7. We are indeed blessed.

What is your greatest prayer concern today?

Pray

Jesus, thank you for knowing my greatest prayer concern even if I don’t voice it.

“If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me.”

Robert Murray M’Cheyne
