From our human perspective, the world and our individual lives often seem to be random and unpredictable, but God is still in control. Joseph’s story shows how God used even the unjust treatment of Joseph by his own brothers to fulfill a bigger plan. People’s sinful ways do not ruin God’s sovereign plans. In the end, you will discover that your life is like a tapestry; right now you can see only sections of the back, with all its knots and loose ends. Someday you will see the front in its beautiful entirety, the picture of world history and your personal history from God’s perspective. If you can see unexpected and even unwelcome circumstances in this way, you’ll embrace both the good and the bad, knowing that through them, God is weaving a beautiful picture with your life.
