Giving
My Question for God
How does giving reflect the heart of God?
A Moment with God
Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!
1 Chronicles 29:14
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”
Malachi 3:10
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
1 Peter 4:10
Giving is a remarkable concept that originates in the heart of a generous God, who pours out more blessings on his people than we could ever deserve. The gift of life, the gift of love, the gift of salvation, the gift of eternity in heaven—all of these are priceless. The possessions you have are generally a tangible result of what you have invested through time, energy, and talent. But who you are—your character—is always a direct result of what you have invested of yourself with God and others. And one of the great and unique promises of the Bible is that the more you give, the more you receive—not necessarily in material possessions, but in spiritual and eternal rewards.
Divine Promise
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
Luke 6:38
