Freedom
Freedom
My Question for God
How does the truth about Jesus allow me to experience freedom?
A Moment with God
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31-32
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
Romans 6:14
The Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ.
Galatians 3:22
Freedom comes only from embracing the truth about your neediness and God’s provision. And what is that truth? Real truth is found in the person of Jesus Christ. He shows the reality of God, sin, salvation, eternal life, faith, and obedience. Truth is wisdom for living. What is freedom? Freedom is not the ability to do anything you want—that usually just brings you back into slavery. Freedom is the ability to live a life consistent with truth, in a way that keeps you free in heart, mind, body, and soul. True freedom is the reality of God’s holiness overpowering your natural sinful inclinations and filling your life with the goodness and fullness of God’s liberating love.
Divine Promise
Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.
Romans 8:20-21
