Fear

Fear

My Question for God

How does fearing God help me to conquer my other fears?

A Moment with God

Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Let the whole world fear the LORD, and let everyone stand in awe of him.

Psalm 33:8

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Psalm 46:1-2

Think of it this way: Should you fear fire or electricity? Certainly you should always have a healthy respect for the power they both possess. If you do, you can enjoy the blessings of warmth and light. But disregarding such power can bring destruction. In the same way, you fear God in the sense of respecting his power, holiness, and authority. But properly fearing God is the key to experiencing all the blessings that come from tapping into his power and having a relationship with him. When you approach him with this respect and awe, you also find that he is tender, loving, and compassionate.
