Failure
Failure
My Question for God
What is failure in God’s eyes?
A Moment with God
It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.
Isaiah 59:2
[Jesus said,] “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
Matthew 7:24-27
What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Matthew 16:26
If you managed a successful business, raised a good family, won all kinds of community awards, and retired comfortably, would you say that your life had been a success? God says you would have failed if you had done all of these things apart from him. Life apart from God now means life apart from him for eternity. Failure in God’s eyes is not living the way he created you to live. God instructs you to live a certain way for a very good reason: to help you make the most of life both now and forever. Sin results in failure because it is living contrary to God’s perfect plan for you. God gave you the gift of life and created you for relationship with him. Your greatest failure would be to reject that way of life and to reject the God who gave you life. Don’t fail by neglecting or ignoring him.
Divine Promise
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.
Psalm 37:23-24
