Endurance
Endurance
My Question for God
How can I be effective in serving Christ over the long haul?
A Moment with God
“Are you seeking great things for yourself? Don’t do it! I will bring great disaster upon all these people; but I will give you your life as a reward wherever you go. I, the LORD, have spoken!”
Jeremiah 45:5
The greatest among you must be a servant.
Matthew 23:11
It is certainly difficult to do good over a long period of time when life throws you so many trials and temptations. An enduring faith, however, is up to the challenge. The ability to be steady in goodness is born out of godly motives. The desire for status, control, or acceptance is not an adequate motive for long-term discipleship. You will inevitably be disappointed, for Jesus promises you none of these. In fact, Jesus taught that to be the greatest, you must be willing to be the least. Serve because you love him and because you love others in his name. This will not make ministry easy, but it will enable you to endure as you find deep joy in serving others.
Divine Promise
Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Galatians 6:9
