How can I experience God’s blessings?

A Moment with God

[God said,] “Not one of you from this wicked generation will live to see the good land I swore to give your ancestors, except Caleb. . . . He will see this land because he has followed the LORD completely.

Deuteronomy 1:35-36

It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening.

Psalm 92:1-2

Throughout the book of Deuteronomy runs a simple but profound principle: Obedience to God brings blessings, and disobedience to God brings misfortune. Be careful not to think of these blessings only in terms of material possessions: The greatest blessings are far more valuable than money or possessions. They come in the form of joy, peace of heart, spiritual gifts, family, friendships, and the confidence of eternal life. God has given you far more than you realize—all of it undeserved, all of it given freely because he loves you. Your obedience should not make you proud, as if you had earned God’s blessings. You haven’t. Rather, your obedience should be the product of a heart thankful to God for his undeserved blessings. Thanking him keeps you aware of his blessings and keeps you from becoming ungrateful. A lack of gratitude is the first step toward missing out on God’s blessings.

Divine Promise

Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
