Balance
Balance
My Question for God
What are the blessings of a balanced life?
A Moment with God
Give according to what you have, not what you don’t have. Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality. Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.
2 Corinthians 8:12-14
True godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
1 Timothy 6:6-9
A key to finding satisfaction in life is the balance between meeting your own needs and the needs of others. Focusing too much on what you cannot have, should not have, or will never have breeds feelings of dissatisfaction. The more dissatisfied you are, the more you tend to focus only on yourself, which throws your life off balance. It’s important to meet your own needs for food, shelter, and clothing, but focusing too much on yourself will cause you to neglect one of God’s greatest mandates: to help others who are in need. As you balance meeting your own needs with meeting the needs of others, you will find contentment in caring for others and contentment with what you have.
Divine Promise
Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God.
Ecclesiastes 7:14
