Responsibility
Responsibility
MY QUESTIONS for GOD
Am I really responsible for all of my actions? I can’t help it when I do certain things.
A MOMENT with GOD
Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
Romans 6:12-14
When we think of a bad habit, we think of things such as smoking, drinking, and abusing drugs. But spreading gossip, complaining, and backbiting are bad habits too. Worry is a bad habit that can hurt you both physically and spiritually. One of Satan’s great lies is that you are a victim who has no power to resist your impulses. The world teaches that heredity, environment, and circumstances excuse you from responsibility. In reality, everything you do is the result of a choice you make—and you are responsible for every choice. It’s hard to resist every temptation and always make good choices. The good news is that God is more powerful than anything you feel controls you. When you tap into his power through prayer and the support of fellow believers, God breaks the chains that hold you and gives you the self-control to say no.
DIVINE PROMISE
Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.
Romans 6:16
